T. Thomas Liu, MD PhD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree and combined MD/PhD from the University of Pennsylvania before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he trained under renowned sports medicine pioneer Dr. Freddie Fu.

Dr. Liu completed advanced fellowship training in sports medicine at UPMC, where he cared for elite athletes from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and numerous collegiate athletic programs. He later brought his expertise to the High Desert as team physician for the Victor Valley College Rams and several local high school football teams. Dr. Liu continues to care for elite athletes as a ringside physician and travels with multiple USA national sports organizations, providing medical coverage at national and international competitions.
